On 10th August, European Chamber President Jens Eskelund was interviewed by CCTV on the large-scale equipment renewal and consumer goods trade-in policy (the "two new" policy).

8月10日，中国欧盟商会主席彦辞就大规模设备更新和消费品以旧换新（“两新”）政策接受央视采访。

Eskelund told the reporter that the Chamber has more than 1,700 members, of which nearly half are following up the "two new" policy to promote the implementation. He said that many European enterprises have begun to study how to meet the conditions, and actively participate in equipment renewal; there are also many automotive, home appliance companies have begun to see the pull effect of consumer goods trade-in.

彦辞表示，商会1700多家企业会员，有近一半正在跟进“两新”政策的推进实施。不少欧洲企业已着手研究如何符合条件，积极参与到设备更新；也有不少汽车、家电企业已经开始看到消费品以旧换新带来的拉动效应。

Eskelund said “We very much encourage our members to try to understand these policies to see if they in any way could [be qualified for] some of these benefits. We also see that competition is developing very fast here. You need to invest and continue being among the best, bringing your best products to China, in some cases having your products development here for the Chinese market.”

彦辞说：“我们非常鼓励我们的企业会员去了解和研究这些政策，看看他们是否有资格享受其中的红利。因为我们也看到，竞争在这里也很激烈。所以外资企业需要投资，站在技术最前沿，把最好的产品带到中国。在某些情况下，在这里为中国市场进行产品开发。”

Recently, the Ministry of Commerce held a roundtable for foreign-invested enterprises to interpret policies on large-scale equipment renewal and consumer goods trade-in.
